Can hexes and curses be a good thing?

Hexes and curses in magick and witchcraft are always contentious issues.

There are practitioners of magick who are vehemently opposed to them, and for good reason too.

Curses and hexes are usually types of magick that can cause great harms, hardship and suffering, usually to others, and as such can be hugely destructive.

We’ve all read the fairy stories such as Sleeping Beauty, where Princess Aurora had a curse placed upon her by Maleficent, which meant that on her 16th birthday, she would prick her finger on a needle and the whole kingdom would fall into a deep slumber for 100 years, or until a handsome prince would come and wake her with a kiss.

But aside from these stories, curses and hexes have been used for millennia and they are very real, very powerful, and often very destructive forms of magick that can have huge and lasting consequences to not just the victim, but the wider community and the caster themselves too!

Done properly, however, a hex or curse can be used for good, as we can utilise this destructive power to help us heal.

We all have those negative traits about ourselves that we try to keep hidden. Those parts of our personality that cause us harm.

These could be things like addictions that negatively impact us, or negative thoughts that creep in and eat away at our joy. All of those little shady parts of us that we’d rather we didn’t have. The things that prevent us from living the happy, fulfilled life that we want to live.

This is where a very careful and very strategic hex can work wonders.

By hexing these very specific negative traits, we can often rid ourselves of that which holds us back, and since no person is being harmed by the hex or curse, then there are no negative repercussions.

Essentially it’s possible to use our own negativity back upon itself.

Now I should add that dealing in magick of any form is always risky if you don’t know what you’re doing, but none more so than curses and hexes.

These are VERY risky forms of magick, but used carefully and wisely, they can also be powerful ways of breaking destructive cycles, ridding you of addictions and destroying damaging behaviours, leaving you altogether feeling much lighter.

By using a hex in this way, we are only targeting our specific negative traits, and not us as individuals nor anyone else.

A carefully crafted hex or curse that is designed to utterly destroy the negative aspects of ourselves can lead to some wonderful healing.
